Celebrating 250 years of culinary diversity!
As a signature component to the overall City of Allentown’s 250th Anniversary celebration, The Great Allentown Fair will incorporate a spotlight event daily into its Farm to Table Chef Demonstration Series held inside Agri~Plex at the Fair’s fully appointed kitchen stage and spectator viewing area. Each event will feature a renowned area chef preparing a dish or specialty indigenous to the cultural heritage and ethnic background of the City’s residents. The daily “Culinary Diversity” events will afford fairgoers the opportunity to learn how to create these dishes, enjoy the culinary showmanship of the featured chefs and even sample the completed recipes.
The Great Allentown Fair is celebrating its 160th year as the oldest and largest event in the City of Allentown and is promoting these events as a unique featured attraction, free with Fair admission. The Fair markets in a 100-mile radius of Allentown and draws fairgoers from the local region, the Commonwealth plus an additional 39 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Thousands of people make it an annual tradition to “come home” for The Great Allentown Fair! The 2012 Fair runs August 28-September 3.
