The Parks and Recreation Commission was established in 1957 and monitors all parks and recreation activities within the Borough of Emmaus. The Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Parks and Recreation Committee of Borough Council. Commission members serve on a voluntary basis. The Commission performs its work in an in-depth specialized manner, following guidelines set forth by Borough Council and recommends actions and rulings for approval by Borough Council.
The Parks and Recreation Commission is a nine member panel, eight of which are residents of the Borough of Emmaus, and one member who need not be a resident of the Borough of Emmaus, but who is a representative of the East Penn School District.
There are currently seven permanent subcommittees of the Parks and Recreation Commission.

A hidden gem of a park lies on the eastern edge of Emmaus. Found in the Stryer section east of Dalton St, bounded by Mountain Blvd to the north and Alpine St. to the south, Boroline Park is a quiet escape from a busy area. An adequate parking lot with adjacent bathrooms lies off of Alpine St. near the dead end. The park features a well-maintained baseball field, tennis courts, and basketball courts for active participants. For those more inclined to relax, there is a large grassy picnic area and a pavilion that can be reserved. The young at heart will enjoy the winding paved path and playground. Attached to the park is the Wildlands Conservancy’s South mountain Preserve. This natural area provides hiking and biking trails, areas for wildlife study and a great view of the Lehigh Valley. Whatever your outdoor pursuit, Boroline Park has the facilities to provide for an enjoyable visit.
